High-speed motor or spindle is an asynchronous motor with short circuit rotor, which design permits operation at 18000, 24000, 30000 and 60000 rpm, while the normal electric motor operates at a speed of up to 3000 rpm.
The spindle reaches such a speed by means of radial bearings, made of ceramic or steel, and cooling system, performing protection of the bearings and spindle winding against overheating. By reason of high prices, the spindle is used in the mechanisms with high indicators of quantitative and qualitative characteristics, namely in the machines.
